The Utah Highway Patrol is blaming a motorist's sudden lane change for an accident involving a semi-trailer rig and another car on southbound Interstate 15 near Clearfield.

UHP Cpl. Todd Johnson said the crash occurred just after 9 a.m. Monday when a 29-year-old Roy man driving a 2012 Dodge Charger began to turn from the left to the center lane. A 24-year-old Clinton woman in a 2002 Saturn was forced to swerve into the right lane to avoid colliding with the Charger, which resulted in her crashing underneath the trailer of the semi.

The woman was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. No one else was hurt.

The driver of the Charger was cited for failure to signal his turn for at least two seconds.
