Colin Vock's memorable week on the ice has been recognized.
On Tuesday morning, the 27-year-old Utah Grizzlies forward was named the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Jan. 28-Feb. 3. Vock netted six of Utah's eight goals last week, helping the Grizzlies to a 1-0-1 record in a pair of games at Ontario, Calif.
In Utah's 6-5 shootout loss Friday night to the Reign, Vock scored three goals, including two on a power play. He added another hat trick in Utah's 3-0 bounce-back win over Ontario Saturday, scoring the eventual game-winner and adding another power-play goal.
The Utah forward also has a chance to match history this week.
Vock will aim to be just the fifth player in ECHL history and the first since Steve Gibson in 1997 to score three goals in three consecutive games when the Grizzlies visit Idaho on Wednesday.
A native of Detroit, Mich., Vock has tallied 31 points (17 goals, 14 assists) in 40 games this season, and leads the Grizzlies with 17 goals and a +13 rating.
In 101 career ECHL games with Utah and Gwinnett. Vock has tallied 63 points (31 goals and 32 assists).
In a statement release from the ECHL, a case of hockey pucks will be donated to a Utah youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL, on behalf of Vock.
