The University of Utah softball team lost a pair of games Sunday at the Red Desert Classic in St. George, falling to Arkansas 5-1, and to Nevada 6-4.

Chalese Frankhauser hit a home run for Utah's only run against undefeated Arkansas. The Utes had only four hits in the game.

Nevada's Megan Fincher and Chelsea Venable each homered off Utah's Naomi Amu in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 4-4 tie in the second game.

Kelsi Hoopiiaina went 2-for-3 and scored twice for Utah (2-3) against the Wolf Pack.

In other games at the Red Desert Classic:

Utah Valley 10, Nevada 1 • The Wolverines pounded 14 hits, and pitcher Tiffany Mills scattered seven hits in a complete-game victory. Dynasy Lauvai hit a grand slam among her two hits for Utah Valley (4-1), and Kylee Brinkerhoff and Amanda Robinson each had two hits and two RBIs. Jazmyne Cortinas also added two hits.

South Dakota 5, Utah State 4 • USU's Noelle Johnson ripped a two-run double in the sixth inning, but the winless Aggies' rally from a 5-1 deficit fell short.
