The weekend's winter storm system settled over southeastern Utah Monday morning on its slow journey east into Colorado and beyond.

The National Weather Service had a Winter Storm Warning in place through Tuesday for the Blanding and Bluff areas, while a Winter Weather Advisory was still in effect Monday for the Monticello region.

In the wake of the weekend's heavy mountain snowfall, the risk of dangerous backcountry snowslides remained at "considerable" for Moab's mountains, while the slopes of the Wasatch Front were graded at "moderate," according to the Utah Avalanche Center. The same risk ratings initially were in place for Tuesday.

Northern Utah's forecast called for highs Monday and Tuesday in the low-30s with overnight lows in the low-teens. Southern Utahns expected highs in the upper-40s to near 50 degrees Monday and Tuesday with overnight lows in the 20s.

The Utah Division of Air Quality reported that the state's breathability grades remained in the "Green," or healthy zone.

Salt Lake City's high temperature forecast called for readings of 32 degrees both Monday and Tuesday, sandwiching an overnight low of 11; Ogden looked for highs of 33 degrees and a low of 11; Logan's forecast was for a high of 23 Monday, an overnight low of -1, and a daytime high Tuesday of 25; Wendover 28, 8 and 28; Duchesne 24, -2 and 25; Cedar City 29, 2 and 34; St. George 47, 26 and 50; and Moab 37, 12 and 38 degrees.
