In his State of the State address, Gov. Gary Herbert had little to say about addressing air pollution. Similarly, state legislators have given no indication they intend to address the problem in a meaningful way.
The public's best way to force some action on pollution may be to insist the federal government intervene. After all, federal air quality standards are continually violated.
The threat of the evil feds getting involved may scare the governor and Legislature to finally act.
