Transportation Security Administration officials at the Salt Lake City International Airport discovered a firearm in a passenger's luggage over the weekend, the ninth firearm to be found in the airport since the beginning of this year.
A TSA spokeswoman said the passenger had an unloaded Davis Industries Chino .32 caliber handgun in his carry-on bag.
The man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm at a security checkpoint.

The TSA allows passengers to take an unloaded gun in checked baggage, but only if it is in a locked, hard-sided container and declared to the airline. A firearm is never allowed in carry-on baggage.
