Re "Park City ski resorts among the greenest around," (Tribune, Feb. 11):

We at Save our Canyons agree with Solitude General Manager David DeSeelhorst that the SkiLink resort interconnect is not "bona fide," and we're delighted to see that Solitude may be distancing itself from the proposal. However, the California-based Ski Area Citizens' Coalition appropriately docked Solitude for its involvement in this debacle.

Save Our Canyons can't support SACC's generally glowing scorecard of area resorts, since its grades ignored many of the projects and proposals currently facing the central Wasatch Mountains. For instance:

• Canyons Resort's involvement in SkiLink, bypassing the public and opposing wilderness legislation, makes it not even remotely deserving of an A grade.

• Snowbird resort was falsely penalized for opposing wilderness legislation, yet no deductions were given for its roller coaster proposal, seven-lot subdivision on Mt. Superior or the 30,000 square-foot structure being built on Hidden Peak.

• Alta is seeking a master development plan revision and significant expansion of the resort boundary to include areas like Flagstaff Mountain and Grizzly Gulch.

Tribune, do your journalistic due diligence in researching and investigating, else you will just become another echo chamber for misinformation.
