Smartphone etiquette

I recently went to the movie theater to catch a flick. Yet I was distracted by the buzzes and notifications flashing on numerous cellular devices. I couldn't go 10 minutes without seeing someone pull out their phone and check the latest update.

I depend on my smartphone for everything — it's my alarm clock, newspaper and how I communicate with the world. Yet there are times and places where you shouldn't access your phone, including movie theaters.

Not only do you miss the movie you supposedly wanted to watch, but it is extremely rude and inconsiderate of others.

So the next time you're out for the movies, put away the phone. We can all survive an hour or two without it.
