Infinisource, which provides human resource services for companies and has operations in Sandy, laid off about a dozen employees in Utah earlier this week, the result of restructuring after acquiring competitor Qqest last December.

The eliminated positions come from a number of different areas of the company, which has about 200 employees in its Sandy office, said Infinisource Chief Marketing Officer Chris Trainor. The company is based in Charlotte, N.C.

Infinisource is a cloud-based service of software and hardware that helps clients manage their employees. The Sandy office specifically develops time-and-attendance technology that features the ability to track employee time from any device.

Despite the layoffs, Trainor said Infinisource "actually is projecting growth in all locations — the company has open roles in sales and marketing."
