A bill aimed at helping elections function in the event of an emergency is headed to the governor's desk.
SB25, sponsored by Sen. Pete Knudson, R-Brigham City, allows the lieutenant governor to change the rules to ensure absentee and overseas military ballots are counted if there is an emergency that affects the transmitting or counting of the ballots.
The measure had previously passed the Senate and passed the House unanimously on Wednesday.
