Fire investigators Thursday were trying to determine what caused a blaze that gutted a home in Roy.

Roy Deputy Fire Chief Cody Draheim said the cause of the fire, which caused an estimated $200,000 in damage to the home at 4894 S. 3650 West, remained undetermined.

The fire was reported by the woman residing in the home about 4 p.m. Wednesday. She escaped injury and was staying with relatives.

Draheim said it took firefighters about 40 minutes to bring the fire under control.
