A new online ranking tags Utah as the nation's fourth most-romantic state, contradicting findings by Foursquare last week that put the state among the least romantic. Social media analysis firm Crimson Hexagon checked out more than 2 million comments referring to Valentine's Day on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and other web gathering spots during the first half of February. They looked at positive and negative sentiment to create the state rankings.Social media is a skeptical place, with 40% of mentions being negative and 23% indifferent about the holiday. But in the past five days, love notes have surged. The most romantic state, according to the analysis, is California, followed by Wyoming, Texas, Utah and Hawaii. The haters are led by South Dakota, then West Virginia, North Dakota, Rhode Island and Kentucky. Most indifferent: Montana. The state produced the least social media mentions of Valentine's Day in the country.
