Maurice Ravel's Piano Concerto in D ("For the Left Hand") will replace the Piano Concerto by Robert Schumann for Utah Symphony's Abravanel Hall concerts Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, February 14, 15, & 16, it has just been announced. This repertoire change is due to a small but recent right-hand injury pianist Nicholas Angelich sustained in Seattle before his travels to Salt Lake City. For these Valentine's weekend concerts, Utah Symphony and Music Director Thierry Fischer have added the "Waltz" from Tchaikovsky's ballet music for "The Sleeping Beauty."

It's still lovey-dovey music. Schumann was a mopey guy, anyways.
