Two men were rescued from a snowy southwestern Salt Lake County canyon early Tuesday morning without sustaining serious injury.
Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal said the brothers had gone snow-shoeing in Corner Canyon outside of Draper Monday when one of them injured his ankle after getting his foot stuck near a low-lying tree. Fearing the ankle was broken, they called 911 for help about 9:30 p.m. Monday.
UPD called on a Utah Department of Public Safety helicopter to extricate the pair, and by shortly after midnight they were off the mountain.
The injured 41-year-old brother was treated in a parking lot by Unified Fire paramedics and then taken to Lone Peak Hospital in Draper for further treatment of what proved to be a minor ankle injury.
