Utah Jazz assistant coach Sidney Lowe apologized on Tuesday for his arrest on charges of willful failure to file North Carolina state income tax returns.
In a statement issued by Lee Turner Jr., his Raleigh-based attorney, Lowe said, "I would like to apologize to the Utah Jazz organization and Jazz fans for the situation that was reported publicly [Monday].
"This is a personal matter that I take very seriously. I am working very hard to get the issue resolved in a timely manner and I am cooperating fully with all parties involved."
Lowe was arrested and briefly jailed in Wake County, N.C., on three misdemeanor charges after the state's Department of Revenue claimed he failed to file state income returns in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
