Tonight I watched "Makers: Voices of Utah Women," KUED's local companion to the PBS documentary "Makers: Women Who Make America." This documentary was a review of the Equal Rights Amendment and its defeat.
I was shocked to see footage of Gayle Ruzicka as a strong opponent of the Equal Rights Amendment. Why do our Legislature and news media pay so much attention to this destroyer of equal rights on every level?
Do our legislators really believe Ruzicka's views represent any more than a small, ultra-right-wing fringe of our citizenry?
