Re "A bad call: Cellphone ban should apply to all" (Our View, Feb. 27):

Studies show that talking on the cellphone reduces one's driving ability to that of a drunk at the wheel. But while our brave Legislature throws the book at drunken drivers, it will only punish teenage (not adult) cellphone-talking drivers with a puny $25 "educational" ticket that doesn't even go on their driving record. So much for focusing on behaviors that make a difference.

Hell, a monthly cellphone bill (let alone a smartphone bill) costs more than $25. This proposed law will have zero effect.

Our legislators rail against useless and ineffective federal laws and regulations, yet they do the same thing here in Utah. Politicians!
