Utah Basketball: Pac-12 tourney position still fluid

With two games remaining in the regular-season, Utah can find itself in one of three positions for next week's Pac-12 tournament in Las Vegas.

The Utes are guaranteed to play on Wednesday in the opening round, as only the top four seeds receive a bye into Thursday's quarterfinal.

As of now, Utah can still garner the 10th, 11th or 12th seed. Currently, the Utes are 11th, heading into Thursday's matchup with Oregon State. USC currently is in sixth place, tied with Colorado at 9-7 and a half game ahead of Arizona State.

If regular-season results mean anything, USC could be a nightmare matchup for Utah, as the Trojans used length and athleticism to handily beat Utah early in January. The Utes split with both Colorado and Arizona State.

A win over Oregon State on Thursday would likely propel Utah into 10th place. The Utes can finish last by losing both games this weekend, while Washington State wins one.

As of now, Utah is in the 8:30 p.m. slot on Wednesday night. Finish 10th, and the Utes would play in the 6 p.m. slot. Finish last and Larry Krystkowiak's crew will play at 2:30 p.m.
