A Cache County longboarder remained in critical condition Wednesday, the day after he fell and hit his head during a downhill run in the Providence area.

Cache County Sheriff's Lt. Brian Locke said Darren Milano, 26, was rolling down a slope when his board began to wobble. He fell, landing on his back and struck his unhelmeted head on the pavement.

Milano was flown by helicopter to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, where his condition was reportedly unchanged Wednesday, according to hospital spokesman Jess Gomez.

Locke said the incident remained under investigation.
