The Utah Valley University wrestling team will have one day to make good when its travels to Laramie, Wyo., Saturday for the NCAA West Regional/Western Wrestling Conference Championships at the University of Wyoming's Arena-Auditorium.

The one-day tournament starts at noon with the final scheduled for 6 p.m. In all, 50 wrestlers will compete for 16 automatic bids that have been awarded to the WWC from the NCAA.

Senior Josh Wilson will attempt to duplicate last year NCAA qualifying performance at 149 pounds. He was the lone UVU wrestler to earn a NCAA Championship bid.

This year, senior Wilson (20-8), is ranked at 21st on the final NCAA Coaches' Panel. Other Wolverines with a chance to make the national competition include 125-pound redshirt freshman Jade Rauser (19-6), who is currently ranked 20th on the same poll, as well as sophomore heavyweight Adam Fager (18-10), who is ranked 33rd.

The Wolverines, 6-4 in duals this season, wound up finishing third in the Western Wrestling Conference.

The 2013 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships will take place March 21-23 at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa.
