South Ogden shooting victim discharged from hospital

A South Ogden man shot during an apparent break-in earlier this week has been released from McKay-Dee Hospital Center.

South Ogden police spokeswoman Marci Edwards confirmed that the 34-year-old man, who initially had been listed in serious condition, had improved to the point he was allowed to go home Wednesday afternoon.

Police continue to develop information on the shooter, described as a Latino male wearing a blue bandanna over his face, a white hat, dark shirt and white basketball-type pants with a blue stripe. No arrests had been made as of Wednesday.

Edwards said the attack occurred just before 10 p.m. Monday. The victim called 911, saying someone had just kicked in his door at the Villa South Apartment Complex, 3750 S. Grant Ave., and shot him.

Edwards said the crime was being investigated as an attempted homicide.

Police have not released the victim's identity nor details about his wounds.
