Re "Broadway-style theater closer to reality in Salt Lake City" (Tribune, March 6):
On a recent trip the City Library, I was looking for Broadway musical CDs, and lo and behold, there was the hit musical, "The Book of Mormon." I checked it out, and curiosity nearly killed this cat!
Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker wants a new mega-theater to bring in touring shows like "The Book of Mormon." Has Becker heard the lyrics and seen the pictures in the CD booklet that accompany this pornographic play?
The Capitol Theatre has already featured "Wicked," "The Lion King" and "Les Misérables" without any difficulty. If you are building a new theater for productions like "The Book of Mormon," people may not, and should not, come.
