Same female robber may have hit Subway, gas station this week

The same woman may have robbed a Subway and a Texaco gas station in Salt Lake County this week.

About 6:30 p.m. Friday, a woman entered the gas station at 315 E. 3900 South, with a grey hoodie pulled tight around her face, which was also partially covered by aviator sunglasses, said South Salt Lake police spokesman Gary Keller. She had a small black handgun and demanded money and cigarettes from the clerk, who complied.

She then fled on foot with a pack of smokes and undisclosed amount of cash, and was last seen going north from the gas station, Keller said.

Police are still working on obtaining surveillance footage, but the clerk told investigators that the robber was about 5-foot-8 with a medium build, and was also wearing light blue bell bottom jeans. The clerk could also see some of her hair, despite the disguise, and described it as auburn.

South Salt Lake detectives are also planning to look into whether she is the same woman who robbed a Subway in Salt Lake City on Wednesday.

At about 8:44 p.m., a woman entered the store at 974 E. 2100 South with a weapon and demanded money, according to the Salt Lake City police. She then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Surveillance images released Friday shows her wearing a red hooded sweatshirt with an "AND ONE" logo, also pulled tight around her face, as well as sunglasses and jeans. SLCPD described their suspect as 5 feet, 6 inches tall, 140 pounds and 25 to 35 years old.
