Lone Peak senior Nick Emery helped lead the Knights to the Class 5A state title earlier this month.
He was honored Thursday as the Gatorade Utah boys' basketball player of the year.
Emery, who plans to play at BYU after serving an LDS mission, averaged 17.9 points and 3.8 rebounds. He added 3.6 assists and 2.8 steals.
The Knights finished 26-1 and ranked No. 1 in the nation by maxpreps.com.
Parsons gets shot at big stage
South Sevier senior Race Parsons will compete in the American Family Insurance High School Slam Dunk and 3-Point Championships in Atlanta.
Parsons, who plans to play at Southern Utah, won a competition on Facebook to get the opportunity to compete.
Parsons finished his high school career with 2,093 points, which ranks fifth all-time in Utah boys' basketball history.
