Vetting the playbill

In "Mormon musical" (Forum, March 14), Joyce Short is upset and offended by the possibility that the hit Broadway musical "The Book of Mormon" could come to Salt Lake's new mega-theater. She boldly states that "people may not and should not come."

The shades of super-righteous people are already rising to tell you and me what a major theater in Utah should and should not be programing. Let's just cut to the chase, ye holier than thou Utah politicians: Just hand over every proposed production idea to her high majesty of all things that are (and are not) wholesome, Utah Eagle Forum leader Gayle Ruzicka, to decide what is acceptable for me to see.

It would save us all a lot of time.
