A West Valley City police officer is missing, and law enforcement is asking for the public's help finding him.

Michael Valdes, 37, was last seen Tuesday evening at his West Jordan home when he told his wife that he was leaving for work. But he never showed up.

He is believed to be in a 2006 Infiniti QX56, a black sport-utility vehicle with Utah license plate B975SJ, according to West Jordan police. He is described as 6-foot-2, with a slender build and a dark complexion, and was wearing dark jeans, a dark blue and bright turquoise hoodie and Jordan basketball shoes.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the West Jordan Police Department at 801-840-4000.
