Acting on a tip, Salt Lake City police have arrested a couple suspected in two restaurant robberies.

Salt Lake City police Det. Veronica Montoya said the suspects, a 30-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, were arrested shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday at the Zions Motel, 1799 S. State Street.

Montoya said officers had been alerted to a suspicious vehicle parked at the motel, and they subsequently located and arrested the couple in a room there.

The suspects did not resist arrest.

The couple were booked into Salt Lake County Jail on suspicion of first-degree felony aggravated robbery and other charges stemming from the robberies of a Subway sandwich shop on March 13, and the holdup two days later of a Baskin-Robbins ice cream store.
