State colleges: Utah baseball team beats Stanford to wrap up series

The University of Utah baseball team pounded 14 hits in a 7-5 win over host Stanford in a Pac-12 game Sunday.

Braden Anderson and Kody Davis each had four hits, and Trey Nielsen ripped a three-run homer as Utah (11-10, 2-4 Pac-12) won the rubber match in the weekend series.

Softball

California 4, Utah 1 • In Berkeley, Calif., Shelby Pacheco drove in the Utes' only run with a fourth-inning single, and Cal completed a three-game sweep. Utah fell to 13-13-1 and 0-3 in the Pac-12.
