Jeff Clawson, who co-founded the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch 33 years ago in Salt Lake City, was given the 2012 Dr. Ronald D. Stewart Award from the National Association of EMS Physicians. Clawson, an emergency room physician, also was named the recipient of the J. Walter Schaefer Memorial Award of Excellence from the American Ambulance Association. Both awards are given in recognition of improving the outcomes of emergency services agencies across the United States.

MWH Global, a provider of strategic consulting, environmental, engineering and construction services, has hired David Steed to boost the firm's mining industry services. Steed is based in Salt Lake City and will serve as the company's new mining sector permitting practice leader for North America.

America First Credit Union has announced that Kerry Wangsgard has been elected treasurer of the Salt Lake Estate Planning Council. Wangsgard has been America First's vice president and director of trust services since 2005.

Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah said that Mark D. Hiatt has joined Regence as executive medical director. In his new role, Hiatt will work with health care providers to enhance the quality and affordability of care for Regence members in Utah. Hiatt most recently served as chief medical officer of HealthHelp, a specialty benefits management company based in Houston.

Randal Lewis, a board-certified physician in family medicine, has joined Western Hills Medical Clinic in Taylorsville. The new clinic is a member of Physician Group of Utah. Lewis is an established physician with more than 22 years of experience. He earned his medical degree from Autonomous University of Guadalajara in Mexico, followed by a family medicine residency at Youngstown Medical Center in Ohio.

The Salt Lake City-based law firm of Parr Brown Gee & Loveless has hired Rachel Lassig Wertheimer as an associate lawyer. She will represent companies and individuals involved in business disputes. Prior to joining Parr Brown, Wertheimer worked as a law clerk for Judge Michael R. Murphy of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

John Barger has been named president and CEO of Deseret Trust Co., an entity of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that provides fiduciary services to those who want to benefit the church and its charities. He replaces David Moore, who is retiring. Barger is a retired major in the U.S. Air Force and a former senior vice president with Davidson Trust Co.

Clark Whitworth has been promoted to chief financial officer for the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies and also as president of Larry H. Miller Management Corp. Whitworth has been with the Miller organization for more than 25 years and most recently served as chief financial officer for Miller Automotive Operations and Miller Family Real Estate. Also, four employees of the Larry H. Miller Dealerships have been promoted. Chad Bravender is general manager of Larry H. Miller Honda in Boise, Idaho. Jim Brown is the general manager of Larry H. Miller Lexus of Murray and Larry H. Miller Lexus of Lindon. Ty Leuthold is the new store manager for Larry H. Miller Subaru Boise, and John O'Bryan has been named senior vice president of automotive operations for Miller Automotive Operations, based in Sandy.

Molding Box, Salt Lake City, has announced that Nathan Dodd and Chris Mitchell have been named account managers. Along with building Molding Box's presence in the printing industry, Dodd will be responsible for the sales of business printing services to local and national clients. Mitchell will help grow Molding Box's presence in the fulfillment industry.
