Utah's Sophomore Nick Soedel along with freshmen Kristian Kron and Josiah Purss will compete at the NCAA Men's Swimming & Diving Championships, which begin Thursday at IU Natatorium and the IUPUR Sports Complex in Indianapolis, Ind.

It will be the first time in more than 20 years that three Utes have qualified for the meet.

Soedel will swim in three sprint freestyle events, including the 100 which he is ranked 15th nationally. The top 15 finishers gain All-American status. He will also swim the 50 and 200 races.

Kron, who will represent Sweden at the World Championships in Istanbul, Turkey, in December holds multiple Utah school records, including the 200 IM, 400 IM and 200 back.

Purss recorded a Utah school record in the 3-meter dive and has become only the second male diver in Utah history to qualify for the NCAA Championships. He was the only Ute diver to place in the top ten of all three events, and has qualified for NCAAs in all three of his record events.
