Puffing around kids

This morning, I pulled up next to a minivan with four children. As we waited for the light, I noticed the driver carelessly smoking a cigarette in the midst of her children. Sadly, this is a common act.
I have no problem with people choosing to smoke a cigarette. Yet the minute you decide to smoke in front of your adolescent is the minute you are fully contributing to various health tribulations that will take a negative toll on your child.
These four young children didn't have a choice but to inhale secondhand smoke. The next time you decide a cigarette is what you want, save it for somewhere else, and preserve your child's well-being.
And if the governor signs HB13, it'll also be against the law.
