Civics Central: Salary increases in South Jordan, Second Amendment support in Sunset

Here's your weekly roundup of what local city councils, school boards and other government entities are tackling during regularly scheduled meetings. Government agencies have until 24 hours before a meeting to post their agendas, so check back as this schedule will be updated. All meetings are open to the public, and citizens are welcome to voice their opinions during designated times. If you do wish to speak at a particular meeting, you may need to sign up in advance.

Centerville City Council • Will consider rezoning property from Agricultural-Low (A-L) to Residential-Low/Planned Development (R-L/PD) and the conceptual subdivision plan for Woods Park subdivision at approximately 2250 N. 800 West; Tuesday, April 2, 7 p.m., 250 N. Layton City Council » Will hold a public hearing on a proposed amendment to change the seasonal outdoor vendors section of the zoning code; Thursday, April 4, 7 p.m., 437 N. Wasatch Drive, Layton.

Midvale City Council • Will consider adoption of the Community Development Block Grant budget, also will consider amending the composition of the Employees Appeal Board and appointment of a hearing officer; Tuesday, April 2, 7 p.m. City Hall, 655 W. Center St., Midvale. View the Midvale agenda.

Murray City Council • Tuesday, April 2, during 5:45 p.m. work session in conference room #107, members will hear Community Development Block Grant recommendations. At 6:30 p.m., members move into Council Chambers where they will receive public comment and consider approving zoning changes to land at 6271 S. 900 East; City Center at 5025 S. State St., Murray. Murray Planning Commission • Will discuss several conditional use permits, one for an art and wine education business at 258 E. Winchester St., two for electronic message signs at 5324 S. Taylorsville City Council » Will hold a public hearing on a proposal to amend the city zoning map from R-1 40 (residential) to RM-4 (residential multi-family) on property located at 4702 S.
