Grade • B+

CD • With her fourth album, saxophonist Jeanette Harris propels an enticing collection of smooth jazz numbers.

"Summer Rain" is a fitting title for this release. After all, a warm gentle shower can be quite romantic.

Harris, who co-wrote Grammy-winning guitarist Norman Brown's "The Best Is Yet to Come," had a hand in writing 11 of the album's 12 soul-drenched songs. As a soloist, Harris, who is classically trained on saxophone and piano, has a bright future.

As if to complement the mood of the album, Harris also helped create a perfume of the same name. Spray then play. —
