The Salt Lake City-based law firm of Durham Jones & Pinegar has announced several leadership changes. Its board of directors has appointed Duane H. Gillman to chair the firm's bankruptcy and creditors' rights section. Rick Hymas has been named litigation section chair and Mark Gibb the co-chair. Gretta Spendlove has been named real estate section chair. The firm also has appointed Peter Donaldson, a member of the litigation section, to chair the firm's recruiting committee, with Jessica Peterson as vice-chair.

The Utah Credit Union Association has inducted the former president of America First Credit Union, Rick Craig, into the organization's Hall of Fame. Craig recently retired from America First after serving 16 years as president, 20 years as executive vice president and two years on the board of directors.

Visit Salt Lake has awarded Stephenie "Rainey" Butler the seventh annual Dianne Nelson Binger Scholarship. The scholarship is bestowed annually to a female student at the University of Utah in the department of parks, recreation and tourism, which is part of the College of Health.

Emily Elliott, a 20-year volunteer disk jockey at KPCW, has been named director of underwriting at Park City's community radio station. Elliott began volunteering during a pledge drive in 1993 and has stayed with the station in various roles ever since.

The Salt Lake Board of Realtors has awarded Craig Hawker its "Realtor of the Year Award" at its Best of 2012 Awards ceremony. The event honors Salt Lake's top real estate professionals based on sales volume and service. Hawker is a Realtor with UtahDave.com-Neighborhood Experts. Realtor Joel Carson was honored with the board's 2012 Salesperson of the Year award. He facilitated the sale of $21 million in real estate last year and is a Realtor with Utah Real Estate Park City.

Professional Services Industries, an independent engineering and testing firm, said John Lincoln has joined its Salt Lake City operations office as a project specialist. Lincoln has 15 years of experience in the construction field in areas that include field and laboratory inspection, testing services and project management.

Merrill Lynch announced that financial adviser Carl L. Laurella has been recognized among the best in his field in Utah by Barron's magazine in its annual "America's Top 1,000 Advisors: State-by-State" list. A Park City resident, Laurella has been affiliated with the company's Salt Lake City office for 28 years.

The Salt Lake Chamber has named Marty Carpenter executive vice president of communication. In his new role, Carpenter will oversee all communication for Utah's largest and longest-serving business association and play a larger role in policy development. He has served as the chamber's director of communication since June 2008.

The Governor's Office of Economic Development has hired Vincent Mikolay, a long-time strategy and business development specialist, as managing director of business outreach and international trade.

The American Occupational Therapy Association announced that Donna M. Costa has been elected chairperson-elect of its Special Interest Sections Council. Costa is a clinical professor at the University of Utah and a consultant and instructor at TherapyEd.
