Ontario, Calif. • The Utah Grizzlies' ECHL playoff hopes received a boost just hours before Game 1 when the team announced the addition of Mitch Wahl, Ryan Howse and James Martin to the active roster.

The best-of-seven series against the Ontario Reign begins Tuesday at 8 p.m. MDT.

Wahl was traded to the Philadelphia Flyers organization in February, but the team reassigned him to Utah for the playoffs.

In 45 games with the Grizzlies this season, Wahl scored 19 goals and added 40 assists. The 23-year-old from Seal Beach, Calif., played in the ECHL All-Star Game just before being traded.

Howse and Martin were reassigned to the Grizzlies by the Calgary Flames, Utah's parent club. They had been playing in Abbotsford.

Howse played in 20 games for the Grizzlies this season before being called up. He had two goals and nine assists. Martin played in 44 games with Utah before he was recalled. He scored three goals and added 10 assists for the Grizzlies.
