The following products and vehicles were recalled by the Consumer Product Safety Commission or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Unless otherwise indicated, discontinue use of the products immediately and return them to the store where purchased for a refund. For more information about the products, call the manufacturer or CPSC's toll-free hotline, 800-638-2772. Only some cars or trucks recalled are affected. Contact a dealer for your model to see if it is included in the recall. The dealer will tell you what to do.
Product • LED light bulbs, sold by Lighting Science Group
Problem • Lighting Science Group is aware of 68 incidents of product failures, eight of which were accompanied by visible smoke or fire conditions. The incidents include damage to light sockets; melted fixtures, burned rugs, carpet and floors; and damage to a circuit and to a lamp. There have been no reports of injuries. Consumers should immediately remove the bulbs from sockets and lamps, and contact Light Science Group for replacements.
Vehicles • Ford 2013 Focus, C-Max and Escape
Problem • The left rear-door child lock was built incorrectly. As a result, it may not engage when the operator uses normal force to activate the lock. Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the affected rear-door latches and replace them as necessary for free. The recall began March 25. Owners may contact the Ford Motor Co. Customer Relationship Center at 866-436-7332.
