Danilo Gallinari scored 21 points and Kenneth Faried added 19 to lead Denver to a lopsided 113-96 victory over Utah on Wednesday night at EnergySolutions Arena.
The Jazz, seeking their sixth straight win, started quickly.
Al Jefferson scored six quick points and Utah built a 12-7 lead. It was still 17-14 before Faried scored five points to trigger an 11-2 run by the Nuggets.
Denver finished with the first quarter with a 28-23 lead, after the Jazz shot only 39 percent.
In the second quarter, the Nuggets maintained a 36-30 lead before Gordon Hayward scored five straight points.
Moments later, however, Hayward picked up his third foul and went to the bench. Denver followed with a 13-6 run to take a 51-43 lead en route to their five-point halftime advantage.
In the third quarter, the Jazz missed their first six shots. It took them five minutes to score their first field goal and Denver edged away to a 74-58 lead.
Utah's best stretch followed.
Derrick Favors hit two free throws, Jefferson scored from the lane and Hayward buried a long jumper to make it 74-64.
In the next minute, however, Jefferson missed two free throws and a turnover by Marvin Williams led to a transition three-pointer by Denver's Corey Brewer.
The Nuggets built an 81-68 lead heading into the fourth quarter and were never seriously threatened over the final 12 minutes.
