SLCCl presenting 'Not the Messiah' this weekend

The Grand Theatre at Salt Lake Community College will present 'Not the Messiah' tonight (Friday, April 5) and Saturday.

Originally commissioned by the Luminato festival in 2007, 'Not the Messiah' is a spoof of Handel's oratorio 'Messiah.'

The comedic oratorio is based on Monty Python's 'Life of Brian,' and was written and scored by Eric Idle and John Du Prez, creators of Monty Python's 'Spamalot.' The play had its world premiere in 2007.The Grand Theatre production is the regional premiere of the oratorio, and features local actors and singers including Dave Hanson, Marcie Jacobsen, Anthony Buck, and others.Each night the piece begins at 7:30 p.m.
