The Unified Police Department wants the public's help in identifying and bringing to justice an armed robbery suspect.

UPD spokesman Ken Hansen on Monday released security camera images of the suspect from the holdup last Friday morning of a Taylorsville Conoco convenience store in hopes someone may recognize the man.

The suspect, who brandished a folding knife, walked into the store at 4841 S. Redwood Road about 1:40 a.m. Friday, threatened a clerk and took cash from the cash register. He was described as a dark-skinned Latino in his 40s, 5-foot-7 and 220 pounds. He was wearing a red shirt, gray jacket and a light blue hat.

UPD said the man drove away in a dark Dodge Dakota pickup truck with a silver tool box in the bed.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call UPD at 801 743-7000.
