Orchard Park, N.Y. • Quarterback Kevin Kolb has arrived in Buffalo to officially sign his two-year contract with the Bills.

The Bills announced the signing Monday, a little over a week after the free agent agreed to a two-year contract potentially worth more than $12 million.

The sixth-year player spent the past two seasons in Arizona, where injuries hampered his opportunity to prove himself as a starter. He was cut by the Cardinals last month in a salary-cap saving move.

In Buffalo, he gets the opportunity to compete for the starting job with Tarvaris Jackson. The Bills are in need of a starter after Ryan Fitzpatrick was released last month.

Kolb spent his first four seasons with Philadelphia after being selected by the Eagles in second round of the 2007 draft.
