A Southern Utah woman pleaded guilty to felony aggravated assault Monday after admitting that she stabbed her husband in 2010.

Roxanne Kay Clark, 35, was originally charged in 5th District Court with attempted murder, a first-degree felony; assault, a second-degree felony; and domestic violence in the presence of a child, a class C misdemeanor.

A trial for Clark was scheduled to start Monday, but instead, the woman accepted a plea deal and pleaded guilty to third-degree felony aggravated assault. As part of the plea deal, prosecutors will not recommend prison time for the woman, according to court documents.

Clark admitted in court documents that she got into an argument with her husband at their Enterprise home on Dec. 31, 2010, and stabbed him.

She will be sentenced on June 18.
