Herbert's courage

Gov. Gary Herbert did the right thing by vetoing HB76, which would have made it legal to carry concealed firearms without a permit. What insanity!

Politicians need to stand up to extremists; Herbert did just that. Now, the crazies are threatening to override the veto.

Contact your state legislators; tell them you don't support an override (go to http://le.utah.gov for information). Also, thank the governor for his courage.

To make matters worse, some proponents of HB76 are threatening the governor with political retaliation. Some feel that since they "gave" him the Republican nomination without a primary he should rubber-stamp their agenda. Shameful.

The Utah Republican Party should do away with caucus-convention nominations. Too much power in the hands of too few.
