Lower the flag

As a memorial to the ongoing failure of the Democrats and Republicans to provide fiduciary sustenance to the country's budget ills, it would be appropriate for the American flag to be lowered to half-staff at the White House and the U.S. Capitol. Each day, as our elected officials go to work, the flag would be an urgent reminder that a remedy is needed to cure our nation at risk.

To reset the country on a path to good health, petty, puerile and demagogic games must be set aside. Americans have had enough inaction.

The flag should fly again at full-staff when a rational compromise is achieved.
