Here's what's happening today in pop culture:
• The campaign staff of Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ken.) had plenty of "opposition research" against actress/activist Ashley Judd if she had decided to run against the veteran lawmaker including stuff about her religious beliefs and her battles with depression. An audiotape of a presentation by the campaign was leaked to Mother Jones, and McConnell's people (who haven't answered questions about the substance of the tape) is demanding an FBI investigation. • MTV has canceled the reality show "Buckwild" after the accidental death of cast member Shain Gandee but the show's producer isn't ready to give up on the show. [The Hollywood Reporter]
• Reality-show personality Lisa Vanderpump is the latest person to be eliminated from "Dancing with the Stars," again proving that there aren't that many actual stars dancing on the show. [Entertainment Weekly]
