BYU softball: Cougars to play 1st WCC home series

The BYU softball team opens its home West Coast Conference schedule against Loyola Marymount on Friday at 5 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m.

BYU (17-20) is 10-2 overall against Loyola Marymount. LMU has never played at Gail Miller Field. The Cougars are led by senior shorstop JC Clayton, who broke the school record with six hits against San Diego to surpass Angie Quiocho. She now has 276 career hits, and 51 so far this season.

LMU (25-18) is on a four-game win streak after sweeping Saint Mary's in its last conference series.
