A 4-year-old Weber County girl was in satisfactory condition Friday, the day after she was found unconscious and apparently drunk.

Weber County Sheriff's Lt. Mark Lowther said detectives continue to unravel details about how the child, whom he described as having unspecified "special needs [that] require home health care," ended up with alcohol in her system.

"We're still in the process of doing some interviews, but the girl is doing all right," he said.

Deputies answering a 911 call just before noon on Thursday found the unresponsive girl in an apartment complex near 1045 South and 1200 West in Marriott-Slaterville.

She was taken to McKay-Dee Hospital Center in Ogden and transferred to Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City, where she remained on Friday.

No arrests had been made, but Lowther confirmed that in addition to sheriff's detectives, staffers from the Utah Division of Child and Family Services are looking into the matter.
