Ogden police say a man upset with being kicked out of an early Friday morning party returned with a handgun and opened fire, wounding another man.
Ogden police Lt. Danielle Croyle said the shooting occurred just after midnight near 31st Street and Jefferson Avenue. The 32-year-old suspect, who had gotten into an altercation with the victim earlier in the evening, came back and fired several rounds. One of them struck the victim in the right ankle.
The gunman then fled the scene. The 30-year-old victim was taken to McKay-Dee Hospital Center where he was later reported to be in good condition.
Croyle said officers quickly identified the suspect, obtained a search warrant and took him into custody at an Ogden home later Friday morning.
The firearm believed used in the shooting also was recovered.
The suspect was booked into Weber County jail on suspicion of attempted homicide, possession of a firearm by a restricted person and discharging a firearm within city limits.
