Greenville, S.C. • Former Colorado State assistant Niko Medved is returning to Furman as the school's new men's basketball coach.
Medved was given the job Friday, replacing Jeff Jackson, who resigned last month after having just one winning season in seven years with the Paladins.
Medved spent seven years at Furman as an assistant coach under Larry Davis. He says he and his wife couldn't be happier to return to Greenville.
Medved spent the past six years at Colorado State, where he recruited the players who led the Rams to two straight NCAA tournaments.
Furman athletic director Gary Clark says Medved's ties to Furman and the rebuilding job he helped with at Colorado State were big selling points.
The Paladins last went to the NCAA tournament in 1980.
