Re "Utah Transit Authority's airport TRAX line open to public" (Tribune, April 14):

While it was excellent to see the new airport TRAX line open on Saturday, less excellent was to see that the stage at the ribbon-cutting ceremony seemed entirely populated by men.

Can it be true that the TRAX line was entirely due to the labors of men? What about former Salt Lake City Mayor Deedee Corradini, who spearheaded the concept during her tenure? What about state legislators who represent the area the spur goes through — Reps. Jennifer Seelig, Rebecca Chavez Houck, Angela Romero and Sen. Luz Robles?

This oversight is another example of the systemic failure to recognize and promote the leadership of women in Utah. It's 2013, not 1963 — we need to do better.
