Cleveland • The Cleveland Indians have placed center fielder Michael Bourn on the 15-day disabled list with a cut finger.

Bourn cut his right index finger Sunday sliding into first base. He had his hand stepped on by White Sox reliever Matt Thornton in the eighth inning. It's not known how long the speedy leadoff hitter, who signed a four-year, $48 million free agent contract with Cleveland in February, will be sidelined.

He's batting .333 with two homers and two RBIs in 10 games.

The team was waiting to see if left-hander Scott Kazmir, who was out with a strained rib cage, could start on Saturday before adjusting the roster.

The club also recalled right-hander Corey Kluber. He joined the team last week but had a start against the Yankees rained out.
